Did you know this important candle burning tip?
The first time you light a NEW candle, keep it lit until the wax has reached a full melt pool. This means that the wax has melted all the way around to the outer edges of the jar.
Typically, this takes 1 hour per inch diameter of the candle jar. 🤔…That means, with our 2-3 inch diameter jars, you should allow ~2-3 hours for the first burn.
You'll get a better candle experience (AKA get more scent throw, burn time, etc.) if you follow simple care tips like above.
Personally, I like to set up a “candle date” for the first burn lol, where I know I need to keep it lit for ~2-3hours & will be at the house (because we don’t leave our precious candle babies alone when they are lit!).
You gotta treat your candle right the first time or it won’t forget!!
Wish I was kidding, but no, there’s really something called a melting pool memory☠️. The candle wax will only ever melt to the diameter it did on that FIRST BURN.
This is when you may experience the dreaded “tunneling”🫤.
The next time you light a new candle, make sure to use this tip for the best candle experience.
