Quick Beginner Friendly Gratitude Meditation

Quick Beginner Friendly Gratitude Meditation

Meditation comes in many forms.... I define it as the uninterrupted flow of the divine. I usually practice in the form of a short gratitude meditation or breathing meditation. Today we are going to do a short 5 minute gratitude meditation.

I like to use the free app Insight timer for keeping track of time, and they also offer great guided meditations. For this meditation today, feel free to use the app OR you can also set a regular timer for 5 minutes. Setting a timer instead of just blindly meditating will let your mind be more focused in the beginning. This way, you won't have to worry about going past the 5 minutes, especially if you are on a tight schedule.

First read through the following, then begin your practice.

    • Start by sitting in a comfortable position, with tall posture (do this seated so you don’t fall asleep)
    • Take a deep slow breath... in and out
    • Bring to mind a special moment that you’re grateful for
    • Be as vivid as possible and bring in as many details as you can.
    • If your mind wanders, that's okay, kindly bring it back what you are grateful for.
    • Keep breathing and relaxing your body as you flow through.

When you are done, feel free to stretch out for a little as you ease back into the day.

Now, you're recharged and ready!

When you express gratitude for beautiful moments in life, you open the way for these moments to repeat themselves and grow in terms of their magnitude. With this practice, even just for 5 minutes a day, you may start to notice a change in the way you view life!

Maybe that’s stopping & noticing the birds in your backyard for the first time in a while, enjoying happy memories when you hear the song of the ice cream truck, or fully embracing the scent of your favorite candle the next time you light it.

KEY TAKE-AWAYS: SLOW DOWN to practice gratitude. Being thankful for the everyday items/moments that you may overlook on the regular…AND really being grateful for the people in your life (including yourSELF).

Thanks so much for reading. If you give this meditation a shot let us know.

We are always rooting for you and cheering you on from afar!

 Love, Kellee & Juju
